AMENDED TEMPORARY MEASURES GOVERNING MERCHANT VESSELS

COMING IN OR GOING OUT THROUGH BOCCA TIGRIS.

1. To enable foreign merchant vessels to navigate on

waters between Bocca Tigris and Canton, these measures have

been especially adopted and put into effect.

Before navigating on waters between Sampan Chow

) and Tiger Island (

) a merchant vessel

entering the river for the first time shall fill in and

submit to the office of the Pacification Commissioner of

Kwangtung, through the Canton Maritime Customs seven days

before entering, a merchant vessel declaration form

(attached), showing the name and nationality of the captain,

the length and breadth of the vessel, speed in knots,

registered tonnage, scheduled line, number of passengers

allowed to be carried, maximum cargo capacity in tons,

number of crew, the company's house flag, and numeral

pennant, etc.

A merchant vessel, which has been navigating these

waters previous to the enforcement of the above measures,

shall also be required to fill out the abovementioned form

in the manner described above and to submit it within seven

days after the measures have been put into effect.
